CPGA Professional
TCCP Level 3
James was born in Oakville, Ontario in 1985. His greatest strength is his ability to change and adapt quickly to fast moving situations. No doubt this has something to do with the fact that given his relatively young age of 24 he has resided in no less than 9 different cities. James’s most formative years were spent in Tokyo from 1995 -2002 followed by a year in Singapore where he graduated from High School. Upon his return to Canada in late 2003, he entered Humber College’s Professional Golf Management (PGM) program in Toronto. In 2005 he relocated to Victoria BC and continued his PGM studies at Camosun College. Since his return to Canada James’s career has blossomed at a number of fine golf courses, including Oakdale Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Royal Colwood Golf Club and Nanaimo Golf &Country Club on Vancouver Island as well as Shaughnessy Golf &Country Club in Vancouver. He is currently Golf Operations Manager at Fraserview Golf Course, consistently ranked as Canada’s busiest golf course.
Thoughts on the swing: James has been a member of the Canadian PGA since 2007 and brings passion and skill for golf to his coaching. He believes every swing is unique and that everyone has the ability to get their game to the level they dream about. James will help you bring awareness to every movement in your swing so that you can feel and understand how your swing works. If you can feel it, you can change it!
Swing Tip: To start your backswing: Cock your wrists up (not behind), swing your arms back, rotate your shoulders and turn your forearms…It’s that simple (just kidding) Golf is overwhelmed with these over complex tips, the only ‘tip’ I can offer is to go have fun, after all it’s just a game! But if you are looking to make some sense of your swing, come see me at the range!
